‘I am a watcher from the sidelines’

While teaching an online class about sales and customer relations to 50 students, I had one student quietly slip away for two weeks, not participating in our discussions or submitting assignments.

We can make a difference in peoples’ lives when we assume nothing about their situation — how they’re feeling, how they’re doing, what’s on their plate — and simply reach out to them.

Making them feel important is the easiest way to make an impact. Too many people trudge through life with nobody curious about their well-being. Nobody interested in what they’re up to or what they’re battling. We assume the best so we can back to our own lives.

Take time to notice people this weekend. Do it for them. Do it for you.
